The Central Market or Blue Souk, as it is also well-known because of the gorgeous blue tiles on the exterior walls, is the biggest bazaar in Sharjah. The Blue Souq is one of Sharjah's most famed milestones with its exclusive Islamic design. It is situated on the Khaled Lagoon with over 600 shops. The Central Market has two sections associated with channels. In one division, shoppers will find merchandise, gifts and electronics while the other division features gold, trinkets and ornaments. The upper floors are popular with tourists because the ambiance is that of a genuine souk. There are antiques, a large range of fine rugs, silver ornaments, Omani and Yemeni antique charms as well as knick-knacks and objet d'art. The lower floor focuses in gold jewels, expensive stones, colognes, textiles, cosmetics, cameras, attires and household items.
