Laxmi Narayan Temple is a famous temple of Chamba which is devoted to the Vaishnavite sect. The temple was built by Raja Sahil Verman in the 10^th century. The major attractions in the temple are ancient wooden chhatries, shikhar, mandapa, garbhgriha and antarala. There is a huge metallic image of Garuda, mount of Lord Vishnu which is encarved on a pillar at the entrance  of the shrine. In 1678, the roof of the temple was decorated with gold plated pinnacles in the reign of Raja Chhatra Singh which was destroyed by Aurangzeb, the Mughal ruler.
