Occupying the second place among the largest playing grounds of the world, Eden Garden cricket stadium now got the place in the list of the places to be visited in Kolkata. Also this stadium is considered as the biggest in terms of the seating capacity for the viewers in the country. This stadium has opened for the local teams’ usage in 1864. It got its international entrance in the year 1987 through the playing of the one day international and the test match was being played in 1934. It acts as the shelter for the Bengal cricket team. This ground had met several matches so far both one day internationals and test matches. It also met several crucial plays of the World Cup.
