French Fort Louis, Puducherry - Its pentagon shape and underground rooms

French Fort Louis in Pondicherry is also one of the most alluring sites. This historical place is among the ancient establishments and was built in 1709. The historical site was constructed in the resemblance to the model of French Fort in Belgium. The pentagon-shaped French Fort houses around twelve gates and five fortresses. Underground rooms are the main attraction of this Fort and they works as a ware-house to keep ammunitions, arms and many other items. A ditch could be seen around the fort for the safety reasons. Standing still from the past 100 hundred years, the French fort worked as a protection wall for the Pondicherry.
