Deekshabhoomi is one of the significant historical sites in Nagpur and is also popularly known as Dhamma Chakra Stupa. Basically, this monument belongs to Buddhists and the place holds such great importance as it was the only place where Dr. B.R.Ambedkar commenced the adaptation of Buddhism by many of the Dalit community in the year 1956. Ashok Vijaya Dashmi, the same day, is celebrated with great fervor and joy for the same. Not only for religious reason but the place is also famous for its architectural exquisiteness. The monument is having perfect edifice constructed with marbles, granites and also Dhaulpur sandstones. Really, its beauty is out of this world!!
