Tryambakeshvar temple in Rishikesh is located at a picturesque location and at its backdrop is the majestic Himalayan range. It is a well maintained and carefully maintained peaceful and sacred temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Tryambakeshvar literally means the three eyed God i.e. Lord Shiva. This is considered as a Jyotirlinga, means a self-emanated linga. There are only 12 such Jyotirlingas on this earth. It is well placed on the banks of the River Ganges with an amazing natural beauty all around the temple. Devotees in large numbers come here to offer poojas to Lord Shiva. Shivarathri festival is celebrated here every year with great zeal and vigor.
