Reach Tirupati by Air

This city is almost well connected to all places in India through rail, road and air. The nearest airport is Renigunta with daily flights to Tirupati from Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Tirupati Airport, the domestic airport has direct flights to other cities around India, mainly to Bangalore, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Chennai and Vizag. Situated 15 km from the city center, one can visit the nearest international airport, the Chennai International Airport, 130 km from Tirupati. The Tirupati airport has been renovated to an international airport and the process is underway.

Reach Tirupati by Rail

The railway station connects to all major cities in India with buses also available to reach Tirupati. Railway station is well equipped having ten platforms, of which five are used and undergoing modernization, which includes escalators. One can get the train from the Renigunta junction lying on Chennai and Mumbai rail route, which is almost 20 minute drive from Tirupati town. Other trains travel across the country with starting point being Tirupati. The only train which connects Tirupati to New Delhi, Gwalior and Bhopal is the Andhra Pradesh Sampark Kranti Express. This is connected mainly in North western line by Chennai Sub-urban railways.

Reach Tirupati by Road

There are ample buses that are connected from within Andhra Pradesh and also from Tamil Nadu. Tourists can aboard express buses which are faster compared to other ordinary road transport. Cabs are comfortable road travelling option, though it can be slightly expensive. The distance of travelling from Chennai to Tirupati is almost 137 kms, with three hours of driving distance.
