Deciding to spend the vacations in Lakshadweep this year but not know how to reach there? No need to worry!! The main islands of Lakshadweep Andrott and Agatti are 220 kms and 440 kms away from Kochi respectively. There are only two ways to reach Lakshadweep:
Reach Lakshadweep by Air
Agatti has an airport and the only one Island of Lakshadweep to have an airport. This airport offers good connectivity with other major cities from Kochi or Cochin, the capital city of Kerala. To reach Kochin is very easy as the airport of Kochi is an international one. The time taken to each Agatti from Kochi is only one and a half hour. From Agatti, you can opt for helicopter to reach Kavaratti, the capital city of Lakshadweep. For internal travelling between the islands of Lakshadweep, helicopters play the main and significant role.
Reach Lakshadweep by Sea
Sailing through ships on pristine water of Arabian Sea is really very great experience of one’s life. Lakshadweep Administration keeping the convenience of passengers in mind organized some passenger ships to travel from Kochi to Lakshadweep. This trip takes about 18 to 20 hours for completing the journey. Travelling on a ship is also very luxurious one with all basic facilities and friendly services.
