Traditional Danish gastronomy has many likenesses to the other moist and cool Northern European countries. Danish chows has been refined and improved for many generations and is chiefly rooted from the old country kitchen with deep-seated recipes created essentially as a safeguard to shield the Danes against the cold weather in Denmark. And hence, Danes eat a lot of meat especially loads of pork and also beef with loads of vegetables. Apart from the meat, poultry and fish products are the Danes second choice. Bread has always been a significant part of the Danish cuisine. Breads and pastries are truly the area of food in which the Danes outshine.
