Dakhinpat Satra is one of the major Satras patronizes by the Ahom king. It now serves as a socio- religious center of Majuli established by Banamalidev in 1584. The Dakhinpat Satra is a house of ancient art and culture of the region showcasing different forms of dances, paintings and sculptures. Rasotsava, the main festival of Assam is celebrated by this Satra with great zeal and zest. The popular dance form of Raas-leela is performed during the festival and thousands of people visit here during the celebrations. The main entrance of the Satra is aesthetically designed by various carved motifs and images of flowers and animals. The idol of Mahaprabhu Jadavarai is worshipped here.
