To protect the Amer Fort and the palace complex, the fort was built by Sawai Jai Singh III in 1726. The Jaigarh Fort is located on CheelkaTeela of the Aravalli hill ranges. The fort was named after Maharaja Jai Singh II. The fort is also known as Victory fort. The structural design and its rocky look are similar to the Amer Fort.  In the fort is the cannon named “Jaivana” which was then the world’s largest cannon on wheels. The Palace complex consists of garden; the royal family use to reside there, an armory, the ShubhatNiwas an assembly hall of the warriors and a museum.
