Located in the heart of Madikeri, the temple was built in 1820 by Raja Lingarajendra. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and showcases an artistic blend of Hindu and Islamic architecture. The temple has a central dome and its windows have bars which are made up of Panchaloha and between the two bars, an alphabet lim has been placed. There is a copper frame installed at the entrance of the temple depicting the history of the temple. Around the temple, there are four splendid minarets and a dome is placed in the centre of it that adds to the beauty of the shrine. Another attraction of the temple is a water tank that contains fresh water fishes. The tank houses a ‘mantapam’ that is connected by a causeway.
