Scenic, Monuments

The concept of the Governor’s house or Raj Bhavan was introduced by the Britishers. Designed by F. W. Stevens, the house was built in the year 1899 in the traditional Victorian Gothic style of architecture. Being the summer residence of the Governor of the Northwest Province, it later got converted into an official guest house of the Governor of Uttarakhand and the state employees. It took around two years to complete this beautiful mansion which includes 113 rooms, a swimming pool, garden and a Golf Course. Spanned over an area of 45 acres, it is adjacent to the forest area of 160 acres.
