Varkala Beach, Kovalam, Kerala - An untouched beach
It is a sea side resort near the town of Kovalam which is surrounded by high cliffs from where majestic springs endowed with rich minerals flows across the coastline. Though the beach remains untouched by the crowd of visitors but it has been famous as a pilgrimage destination for Hindus. There is a famous Janardana Swamy Temple which is said to be 2000 years old. The place is also known as Papanasam and is an auspicious place for the devotees to pay tribute to their ancestors.
