Literally means Iron Fort; this fort is a popular tourist’s destination near Khandala. Elevated a height of 1052 meters, the fort is situated on the Sahyadri hill ranges and is associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji, the great Maratha ruler. There are several magnificent structures in the fort such as huge water tank, step well etc. that attract the tourists. A tomb and a Shiva temple are also located inside the fort premises. The visitors can also see a cave outside the fort which was used to store grains etc in the rainy season.
