Devi Temple, Panipat, Haryana - The most religious shrine
Dedicated to the local goddess of the city of Panipat, the Devi Temple is the most religious shrine in the town. The temple is located on the banks of a large water tank and is known for its fantastic architecture and ancient sculptures. The Shiva Temple located adjacent to the Devi Temple is also a famous religious destination which is also known as the MangalRaghunath. It was built by MangalRaghunath, the Maratha ruler who gave his name to the shrine. Every year thousands of local devotees and tourists gathers the temple premises to celebrate the annual festival organized here. The temple has also been a witness to the battles of Panipat and is a popular pilgrimage site to be visited by the tourists.
