Fish is a staple food, alongside with meat, potatoes and other root vegetables. The favorite traditional hot snack is the pølse, a type of sausage. The roadside kro is a good choice if you want to taster traditional Norwegian fare. Alcohol tends to be limited in availability and pricey, although beer and wine are normally available in restaurants.
