Being located on a high altitude, Ladakh experiences much variation in its climatic conditions. The coldest months in Ladakh are from October to March when the mercury level may drops down to -15 degree C resulting into extreme chilly climatic conditions and frostbite. In winters, heavy snowfall also occurs and the entire road passes get blocked.
Summers last from April to September and it is indeed the ideal time to visit Ladakh. The weather is cool and pleasant and the temperature exceeds up to 33 degree C. the entire landscapes look fantastic and the visitors can enjoy the stunning and captivating views of the mountains and clear skies.
But the nature of climate is always unpredictable in Ladakh so it is advisable to always carry sufficient woolen clothes while planning a trip to this beautiful region.
