Bangalpukhri, Jorhat, Assam - Water reservoir
Bangalpukhriis a famous water reservoir which was constructed by RoopsinghBangal in 1739 after killing the BadanBarphukan who was an Ahom governor and used to torture the people of Assam. After this heroic act, Roopsingh got rewarded with some money which he used for making this reservoir. However the water of this tank is never used by the people as they think that this tank was built by the money which was received by killing a man. But still it is a popular tourist attraction in the town.
