About Ambala
Ambala is an important city in the state of Haryana and is located near the border of Punjab in India. It is the municipal corporation of Ambala district and is an important region having the presence of air force and military. Politically, the city is divided into two sub-areas- AmbalaCantonment and Ambala city which are at a distance of just 3 km from each other.
The city of Ambalahas emerged as an important destination from the tourist point of view due to its strategic geographic location and its proximity to the states of Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir. The city is believed to be founded by Amba Rajput and thus named as Ambala.
Ambala houses a multitude of fascinating attraction to lure the visitors in and around the city. There are various religious places in the city which are of great significance to Hindus and Sikhs. The main religious attraction is the three Gurudwaras in city named as Manji Sahib Gurudwara, Sis GanjGurudwara and Badshahi Bag Gurudwara belonging to the three main Sikh gurus. The BhawaniAmba Temple is also a famous attraction in Ambala dedicated to Goddess Bhawani. Moreover other attraction in the city includes Municipal Park, HathiKhanaMandir, Sardar Bazaar, Udyan Garden, Patel Park, Rang Mahal etc. The city has a number of places to pray, to relax and to get free from the stress of life. Apart from a tourist hub the city is also a major industrial center especially in the manufacturing of scientific instruments. Some of the main industries of Ambala are cotton ginning, food processing and flour milling and thus it is major trading hub for cotton, sugar and wheat. The markets of Ambala are famous for the purchasing of wedding clothes and gold jewelery.
