Allapuzha Beach, Alleppey, Kerala - The most popular beach and a picnic spot
Also known as the Alleppey Beach, it is the most popular attraction in the city that flocks a number of tourists. With its labyrinth of rivers, lakes and lagoons, the beach overlooks the Arabian Sea at its west side. The most attractive feature to be noticed at the beach is an old lighthouse which was built in 1862 by Captain Hugh Crawford which has been standing majestically as a reminder of older maritime significance. There is also Vijaya Beach Park at one end of the beach which is one of the most sought after picnic spot for the people of all ages. Boating facility is also available here.
