Situated at the distance of only 11 kms from Kullu, there lies another holy place of Kullu named Bijli Mahadev Temple. The temple is situated at a considerable height of 2450m and from there, one can catch mind-blowing glimpses of the hill station - Kullu. Past legends and stories related to this temple make this temple among favorites of tourists as well as local people. According to few past stories, it is believed that every year shivalinga of this temple gets broken into pieces just because of threatening lighting and the priest of the temple sticks it with butter. Sounds unbelievable, but it is true according to past legends.
