Visakhapatnam is located in the Southern Coastline of our country. Visakhapatnam has a demographic count of 1,435,099. Visakhapatnam is considered as the second largest town next to Hyderabad, in the Andhra Pradesh state and it is the third biggest city in the eastern coastline. It is at a distance of 625 Kms from the east of Hyderabad. It is the home for many heavy industries and for steel plants. It is the one among the largest seaports and has the credit of oldest shipyard. There is a natural harbor on the east seaboard of India.

The township is named after the Hindu god, Visakha who is known as the god of valor. The city is surrounded by mountains of Eastern Ghats and on the east by the Bay of Bengal. The headquarters of the district of Visakhapatnam is Visakhapatnam. It is also the headquarters of Eastern marine authority of Indian Navy. It also owns a nickname as “The City of Destiny”. Later upon the nickname is changed as the Goa of Eastern Coast. Similarly in the west coast, there are beautiful beaches, eye-catching hillocks and gratifying landscape. It also serves to be attention grabbing point for the urban and the tourist growth.
