Assam!! India’s most beautiful and highly visited state just because of being blessed with natural splendor. Kaziranga National Park in Assam is more than enough to declare the state as fortunate one. Once you visit this national park, it would be for sure that this visit will add a lot in your excitement for the wildlife.
Sprawling over an area of 430 sq.kms, Kaziranga National Park is one of the best places to see lots of endangered species of wildlife. It’s wonderful location on the banks of prodigious river Brahmaputra in the North and a little bit of its section along the Karbi Anglong Hills on the South makes the national park more attractive. This extensive and widespread national park was recognized as Wildlife Sanctuary in the year 1950.
Being a national park, it is but obvious that the main attractions of this landmark are different species of wildlife. The main highlight of this sanctuary is one-horned Indian Rhino, which is today’s one of the rare species of the country. Other than this specie, this astonishing national park is home to myriad of other wild animals like Hog Deer, Sloth Bears, Tigers, Jungle Cats, Capped Langurs, Jackal and many more…
Bird Watching is also one of the main activities done in the park. One would love to watch the beautiful birds and their mesmerizing chirping sound. Most commonly seen birds in this national park are Himalayan Griffon, White Tailed Eagle, Brahminy Kite, Oriental Honey Buzzard, and among the migratory birds, the main are Greylag Geese, Ruddy Shelduck, Gadwall, Red-Crested Pochard, etc.
Jungle Safari and riding on Elephants are also highly preferred activities for this national park. Kaziranga National Park is open for the public from the month of November till April. Thus, it is completely justified to address Kaziranga National Park as splendor of Assam!!
