The Gopal Mandir, Indore, Madhya Pradesh - Religious belief and architectural grandeur
In 1832, Indore city was gifted by a wonderful temple by Krishna Bai Holkar named as the Gopal Mandir. This marvelous temple is located at the right side of the Rajwada, other significant site of Indore. The temple offers a pleasant and eye-soothing glimpse because of its Maratha style architecture. Here, in this magnificent temple, majority of the people could be seen who are devotees of Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is the main deity of this awesome temple and his statue is about 2 feet tall and completely made up of silver. The edifice of this temple is quite mesmerizing having big decorative glass chandeliers as the mode of lighting.
