Takht Shri Patna Sahib, Patna, Bihar - Religious belief and architectural grandeur

Gurdwara

Built by the first Maharaja of the Sikh empire Ranjit Singh on the banks of the Ganga, this gurudwara is in remembrance of the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh Ji. It is believed that he was born here in the year 1666 and is thus considered as one of the only five Takhats or Holy Seats of Authority of the Sikhs. Another great Sikh leader Guru Nanak also visited this place before proceeding to Gaya, making it all the more revered. Several historical relics and articles of religious importance are preserved in this gurudwara.
