Kargil Chowk, Patna, Bihar - Constructed to memorize the sacrificed warriors
This war memorial dedicated to the great martyrs of Kargil war was established in 1999 and unveiled in the year 2000 near Gandhi Maidan. The names of Indian soldiers hailing from the states of Bihar and Jharkhand who had sacrificed their lives in the 1999 war resulting from Pakistani infiltration bids are engraved on the memorial. The memorial has been witness to several candle light marches carried out by the general public demanding justice with the most recent case being that of the Iron lady Irom Sharmila on July 1, 2011.
