At the Helsinki Zoo, the whole world on one island is in Korkeasaari, as one can travel from tundra to tropical forest and from foreign mountain peaks to conjugal wetlands. The 150 animal species and about 1000 plant species justly illustrate the diversity of nature. In order to shelter this diversity, the government raised this endangered species at the Zoo. The zoo also participates in the work to guard the habitats in the unique homes of the various species. Old villas, stone castles and peacocks ambling in the park will allow you to explore through time to the years when the zoo was founded 120 years ago.
