Ajaigarh Fort, Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh - Massive fort with great architectural style
Almost all the heritage sites of Khajuraho were the outcome of efforts done by Chandela kings and Ajaigarh Fort is also one of them. This enormous fort also set a perfect example of architectural style of that era. As per old beliefs, this fort was constructed in order to save themselves just because of their declining power. Located amidst the lush vegetation and on the pinnacle of the splendorous Vindhyas, Ajaigarh Fort offers great picturesque to its visitors. It is well sited at a height of 1111 meters which is quite high. The fort also has an ancient temple of Goddess Ashta Shakti, a gorgeous lake called Ajay Pal Ka Talao and also half ruined Jain temple.
