Upper Lake is not only must-see attraction of Bhopal but it is also popularly known as oldest artificial lake all over the country. In 11^th century, this exquisite lake was built by Raja Bhoj and as per few legends; it is believed that the water of this lake is best for getting rid of skin diseases. Among the local people, this lake is famous as Bada Talab and serves as the main source of drinking water for them. Covering an area of 36.1 sq. km, this calm lake provides lot water activities for its tourists like boating, motor boat riding and also sailing. An astonishing Kamla Park lying in the proximity to this lake adds a lot to its charm.
