Tribal Museum, Agartala, Tripura - Wonderful display of vast collection of rare artifacts

Located behind the tourist office of the city, the Tribal Museum is managed by the Tribal Research Institute of Tripura. A large percentage of the total tribal population of the state consists of the Tripuri tribe. A detailed historical and cultural overview of the Tripuri tribe as well as 19 other major tribes is showcased in this museum. All these tribal groups have their own characteristic and specific customs, rituals and festivals, with agriculture being their common source of livelihood. The tools, utensils and clothes worn by these communities can be seen in this museum.
