There are various local transport agencies in the city from where the tourists can hire self driven cars at affordable rates. Driving along the beach or river side and witnessing the bounties of nature while roaming around the city is indeed the best way to travel in Alleppey.

These are also good option to explore the city as they are cheap and are generally metered.
