Scuba Diving - Things to do

If you are in the mood to explore the allure and mystery of the deep underwater world then get ready to try out a sport that’s easy, fun and popular. That’s right it’s Scuba Diving! The acronym for  Scuba is– Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus.

Scuba Diving helps one to explore the rich fauna and flora in the pristine oceans and seas around the world. In Scuba Diving specialized training and equipment is used to safely breathe under water.

Over the years scuba diving equipment has evolved into gear that is better, safer, lighter, streamlined, and much more comfortable to use. The primary equipment needed for Scuba Diving are Fins, Mask, Snorkel, Oxygen Tank(Aqua Lung ), gauges & watch. Depending on water temperatures divers may wear a wet or dry suit along with gloves.

The Aqua-lung is a tank (or cylinder) of compressed gas (usually air or mixture similar to air) which is supplied to the diver through a regulator, which adjusts the pressure of the gas to suit the ambient pressure for comfortable breathing. The open circuit aqua-lung is the most common type of scuba system used by divers who are scuba diving for fun.

The Rebreather is also a tank (or cylinder) of compressed gas breathed by the diver through a regulator, but with other mechanisms that recycle the exhaled gas. This kind of scuba system is called "closed circuit". This kind of tank allows a diver to remain submerged for longer periods

As a scuba diver, there are different kinds of diving that you can participate in. Most people who are doing recreational diving love diving in an ocean, sea or lake.

Wreck diving is a dive that is specifically targeted at visiting a sunken ship or vessel.

Cave diving is an exhilarating experience for divers who want more experience from exploring underwater caves and structures.

Rescue diving is a specialized dive for rescue operations and is usually attempted only by trained emergency personnel. Night Diving & Deep diving are some other forms of scuba diving.

Once your scuba diving basics are mastered, you will be able to dive and explore various water bodies. There are a number of tourists spots in India & International which are know for their Scuba diving hotspots.
