Thirunakkara Mahadev Temple, Kumarakom, Kerala - An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is an ancient temple which is believed to be 500 years old. It was built by Thekkumkoor Maharaja and the building in which it was constructed is known as Koothambalam. The temple exhibits an interesting example of South Indian architecture and the inner walls of it are tastefully decorated with exquisite mural paintings and superb sculptures that attract the tourists from all over the country. Every year the Phalguna Utsav is celebrated in the temple premises with great pomp and show.
