Surya Temple, Nalanda, Bihar - An ancient temple dedicated to God Sun
The Sun temple is a famous tourist attraction in Nalanda. This ancient temple is dedicated to the God Sun andIt is situated near the university premises. The main attraction of this temple is the five feet high idol of goddess Parvati which is placed here along with several other Buddhist deities. Thousands of people visit the temple for its chhath pooja which is held twice in a year in “Vaishaka” and “Kartika”. It is believed that one who puts his feet in the temple would never go back with empty hands.
