In Surat in 1890, an informative museum was founded named Sardar Patel Museum. The museum is a great place which displays the collection of more than 10,000 samples relevant to art and crafts of Surat in form of carvings on metal, ivory, stone and wood. Therefore, the museum is divided into different sections and each section displays the different art work. Like, one could enjoy seeing oil paintings in one section whereas the other exhibits arts and crafts done on textile and even on porcelain. Also, manuscript lovers could see here huge collection of literature including ancient manuscripts. The museum is open throughout the week except on Mondays.
