Rajas Seat, Madikeri, Karnataka - a beautiful seasonal garden with artificial fountains
Literally means the Seat of the King, the Raja’s Seat is a beautiful tourist attraction located at the western end of the hill town of Madikeri. The place is basically a seasonal garden blessed with endless rows of colourful blossoms and artificial fountains. The garden was said to be made by the King of Kodagu who used to relax in this awesome ambience with his queen. The place draws hordes of tourists due to its spectacular sunset view stretching across the Blue Mountains. Moreover, the hilltop offers wonderful views of the Coorg Valley and the nearby regions. To the left of this place is the Gandhi Mandap where Mahatma Gandhi’s mortal remains have kept.
