This lake serves as a heart beat of the tourism in Ooty. Though this lake’s shape is ‘L’ but is more than enough for entertaining the tourists. John Sullivan was the person to make this lake in 1823-25. There at the end of this lake is The Boat House where tourists can enjoy the boating in their choice of boat from eight in the morning till six in the evening. To do boat ride with a surrounding of Eucalyptus trees and beautiful shrub is great experience. If you visit Ooty in summer season, then you can enjoy the boat races and boat pageantry which held for two days and is the main source of attraction.
