East of the Cyprus Museum of Folk Art is the Archbishop's citadel. In one of the buildings neighboring is an emblem Museum. The center of the Cyprus Orthodox Church, the New Archbishopric was erected in a neo-Byzantine fashion in 1960. The Old Archbishopric houses the Folk Art Museum. The structure was constructed in 1957 in Venetian fashion. It has Archbishop Makarios' bedroom conserved alongside with his heart, which is kept in a special casing. It can be visited only on special events. Outside is a ruined of Archbishop Kyprianos, who was dangling by the Turks in 1821. There is also a enormous black figurine of Archbishop Makarios.
