Popularly known as the Lotus Temple due to its flowerlike shape it is a Bahá'í House of Worship. The temple serves as the Mother Temple of the Indian subcontinent and was completed in 1986. Lotus temple can be visited by all religions and it lays great emphasis on prayer and meditation. Inspired by the lotus flower, the design for the House of Worship in New Delhi is composed of 27 free-standing marble clad "petals" arranged in clusters of three to form nine sides. The pleasing architecture of the temple will hold your eyes for an hour and hour.
