Shillong also has numerous parks to entertain its visitors and among them, Lady Hydari Park is must-see destination. This beautiful park is specially formed in honor of the first lady of the state named Lady Hydari. She was the wife of the Governor of Assam. Lady Hydari Park is quite alluring with its different and great array of flowering plants and orchids. The main reason for the popularity of this magnificent park is its lay-out Japanese style. Stretched over an area of more than 1km, the park also houses a Mini zoo especially meant for attracting kids. This Zoo has innumerable species of birds, 140 species of reptiles and myriad of reptiles.
