Nestled at the distance of 18 kms from Trivandrum, Koyikkal Palace is also not to be missed attraction of Kerala state. It is perfectly situated in Nedumangadu district of the region and the traditional architectural style of the palace is the main reason for its popularity. The reason for constructing this magnificent palace was to provide shelter to Umayamma Rani belonging to Venad Royal family. At present, the Koyikkal Palace is also famous for its two museums – Folklore museum and Numismatics museum. Folklore museum displays the different types of musical instruments of that era whereas Numismatics museum offers great display of different types of coins of different eras. Therefore, history lovers need not dare to miss this interesting place!!
