With a pleasant and blissful climate, the idyllic beach destination of Kollam is worth visiting all round the year. However, the best time to visit the town is from November to March.

 

The summer months in Kollam extend from March to May with maximum temperature of 34 degree C. generally the summers are extremely hot but the cool sea breezes swaying from the Arabian Sea makes the weather quite soothing and comfortable.

 

The city experiences average rainfall during the monsoon months that last from October to November. However, the south west monsoon knocks the town in the month of June and lasts till the month of September. Due to the winter rains, the humidity gets increases by 90% during the rainy season. With good amount of rainfall, Kollam is regarded as one of the wet places in the state.

 

Winters stretch from December to February with dry and cold weather. The days are usually cool and pleasant but the nights are quite chilly. So it’s advisable to carry sufficient winter clothes while travelling to Kollam in these months.
