Khecheopalri Lake, the magnificent lake is considered sacred by the Buddhists and Hindus and a number of devotees throng to this place from all across the world. Located at a distance of 24 km from the Pemayangtse Monastery, the lake is a must visit tourist attraction and is elevated a height of 6000 feet above sea level. The most amazing feature about the lake is that in spite of surrounded with dense forests, its surface is entirely clean. This holy lake is also said as wish fulfilling and in the month of Feb-March, a festival is held here when it gets fully loaded by the pilgrims. A walking track of 5 km is also there from Pelling to this Lake and the place is also a great site for trekkers and adventure lovers.
