Best Season & Best time to visit Kedarnath

As Kedarnath is situated on high altitude, it has a cold weather for the most part of the year; hence summers are a treat while winters are freezing. So the best time to travel Kedarnath is May and June and from September and October.

 

Winters last from November to April, as the temperature falls below the freezing point so snow fall is pretty common. Due to heavy snowfall this place is avoided during these months but for the tourists who are visiting Kedarnath during this time, heavy woolens are necessary.

 

Summer months i.e. May and June are the best months to visit Kedarnath with a pleasant temperature. During the day, the cool breeze blows across the region while nights are colder, so light woolen clothes are recommended. This is also an ideal time to explore the places in and around Kedarnath.

 

Monsoon extends from July to August and is accompanied by occasional rainfall. Landslide is also quite common so people should avoid these months. The mercury also drops down to 12 degree C during monsoons.
