Jaisal, the brave Rajput ruler, built a massive fort in 1156 with the golden appearance – Jaisalmer Fort. This gigantic fort is situated on the top of the great Trikuta Hills. Jaisalmer fort, also popularly known as Sonar Kila, is one of the major attractions for the tourists in Jaisalmer. Historically the fort is famous for the loads of battles took place in this enormous fort. The main attraction of this fort is that during the daytime, the color of the fort seems to be yellowish-brown whereas at the time of sunset, it seems as if it is of honey golden color. This fort houses Jain temples, a pre-historic Laxminath temple and also a regal palace.
