Jagannath Temple, Ranchi, Jharkhand - Miniature version of Puri Jagganath temple

Jagannath Temple of Ranchi is a small edition of the global well-known Puri Jagannath temple constructed in the same manner. It was built in the period of king of Barkagarh Jagannathpur, in the year1691. The temple is located on top of a hillock close to to a place called Firayalal chowk near Ranchi. The devotees comprises of native people and tourists.  Many people attracted to the temple especially during the festival seasons. Yearly Rath Yathra, happening at the same time as that of the Puri Jagganath temple, is enjoyed with great showiness and energy. A Fair is arranged jointly with the festival for the people to have more fun.
