Dutch Palace, also referred as the Mattancherry Palace is not so adorned and beautifully constructed but then also it has great charm and charisma. It allures loads of tourists from all over the world. Many of us guess guesses the original founder of the palace to be Dutch as per its name but in reality, the Portuguese were the actual force behind the construction of this palace. In 1557, Portuguese handed over the palace to Raja Veera Kerala Verma. Later on, in 1663, Dutch captured Kochi and got the palace renovated, therefore, it was also named as the Dutch Palace.
