Chintaman Ganesh Temple, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh - A religious shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesha
Built across the banks of River Shipra, this is a must visit religious shrine in Ujjain dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The idol of Ganesha here is believed to be born by itself and on the either side of it, there are the idols of Riddhi and Siddhi, consorts of Ganesha. One of the major attractions of the temple is the exquisitely carved pillars erected in the assembly hall which are dated back to the period of Paramara. The deity of Ganesha in the temple is publically known as ‘Chintaharan’ that means who gives freedom from all the anxieties and tensions of this world.
