Cheruthoni Dam is one of the main attractions for the visitors situated in Kerala and in proximity to the Idukki Arch Dam. In India, this Cheruthoni Dam is at the third position in the list of highest dams and is constructed across the Periyar, the longest river of Kerala. This gigantic dam is 3900 sq.ft. high and can be easily touched from the Idukki Wild life Sanctuary. In 1976, this wonderful dam was constructed and since then, it became very alluring among the visitors. For entertainment, boating facilities are there for the tourists and covers an area between Cheruthoni and Kulamavu.
